To ensure safety for both the donor and the recipient, you must meet these basic requirements:

  • Age: Must be between 18 to 65 years old.
  • Weight: A minimum of 50 kg (110 lbs).
  • Health: Should be in good general health with no active infections.
  • Conditions: Cannot donate if had certain medical conditions like hepatitis or HIV.

Donation Process

  • Registration: Provide your details and fill out a short medical history form.
  • Health Check-Up: A quick check of your blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, and pulse to ensure you are fit to donate.
  • Blood Donation: The process takes about 8-10 minutes. Approximately 450ml of blood is drawn using sterile equipment.
  • Rest and Refreshments: Relax for 10-15 minutes and enjoy light refreshments to regain energy.
